Forst Declines Interview Invitation
by Jon Shields ~ October 10th, 2008
Oakland A’s GM David Forst has declined the Seattle Mariners’ invitation to interview for the GM vacancy, according to John Hickey. This makes perfect sense. Like Chris Antonetti in Cleveland, Forst is in line to take over as GM sooner than later as Billy Beane is expected to be promoted to President or, as some rumors said a while back, make the transition into soccer.
Forst was back in the discussion for less than 24-hours. In requesting an interview with him, Howie Lincoln and Chuck Armstrong are effectively admitting that the A’s are better run organization than the Mariners. That sounds obvious enough, but those two have long resisted giving Oakland any credit whatsoever.
Thanks again to Rob T. for being on top of the rumor mill.

I don’t blame him at all but still it would have been nice if he did…
