Septemeber callups 2B Luis Valbuena and C Rob Johnson will be starting in today’s daygame at Texas.  3B Matt Tuiasosopo will be starting on Friday.

I think it’s obvious that one of the higher ups had a word with manager Jim Riggleman, because he’s quickly had a change of heart when it comes to playing the callups.

A few weeks ago: “If you feel guys have been giving all they have all year, you don’t want to take September away from them… I’m not going to take at-bats away from Ibanez, Beltre, Lopez, Betancourt.”

Today: “We’re going to give these kids the opportunity to play a little.  We want to look at them.”

Considering there isn’t anything to play for, seeing these kids play is all us fans have to look forward to for the remainder of the season.  King Felix is pitching today as well, so I hope you can watch despite the early start.
