Instant Replay…
by Jon Shields ~ September 24th, 2008
…kind of sucks. It didn’t take all that long, but do we really need to see King Felix pacing around the mound and Vlad Guerrero standing idly with his hands on his hips for an extra couple minutes in the middle of an already slow game?
I really hope they don’t expand it to include other plays besides disputed home runs.
I’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts on the recent use of instant replay in baseball. Like it, hate it, love it?

Only 2 minutes so it wasn’t that bad. Worth disputing, but they should have just gone to it right away instead of trying to resume play.

Doesn’t belong in baseball..

I don’t like it either (until it works in Seattle’s favor and wins us a game).

I’m of the belief that it won’t stay at HR disputes only. It’ll progress. Pretty soon, almost everything in baseball will be able to be disputed.
What I honestly believe the game could come to:
NFL - QB is hit as he’s throwing, was it a forward pass or a fumble?
MLB - Pitcher throws a slider, but it doesn’t slide. Can I get a repitch?
I don’t agree with instant replay, at all. Part of the game is the human error factor (even if it it is INSANELY small…umps almost always make the right call). Don’t take that away from the game…

I’m surprised Riggleman didn’t have Vlad’s first homer challenged today.
