Yankees Interested In Washburn
by Rob T. ~ July 22nd, 2008
According to Buster Olney [via MLBTR] the Yankees are “taking a serious look at Seattle lefty Jarrod Washburn”. This is great news for the Mariners as it seems Washburn’s recent run of success has made him not only just tradeable but wanted by other teams. The M’s might be able to get a team to take on most of Washburn’s contract now and get a decent prospect in return. Any trade involving Washburn going to another team is a good one for the M’s. Don’t be fooled by what he has done lately because he is still the same mediocre pitcher and R.A Dickey and Ryan Rowland-Smith can do the exact same thing for 1/10th the price.
