Symphony of Destruction

If a song were to describe the past 6 days, that song comes to mind. This roadstand was absolute destruction. The Mariners not only had their pride destroyed, but it was raped, abused, trampled. How much humiliation can one team endure? We’re about to find out. Boston comes to Seattle starting a 3 game series tomorrow. This could be ugly.
Let us quickly overview, if we have the stomach, the past 6 games.
Mariners score: 27 runs
Opponents score: 61 runs
What does that mean? We didn’t even average 5 runs a game, whereas the other team averaged 10 runs per game. That is pathetic.
In 5 straight games, the Mariners surrendered at least 9 runs. And, in that final game where the Mariners look like they are about to win, the lead was blown. This seems to be the sign of a team that is folding under itself. The team played hard. Sure, we scored 5. But, it wasn’t enough. The 8th inning was one of the ugliest innings I have ever seen in my life. Our bullpen gave up 4 runs in the 8th inning
I’m hoping and praying that the streak of 6 straight embarrassments ends tomorrow against Boston, but I just don’t see that. Hopefully Felix can come out strong tomorrow and continue to pitch well. Hopefully the offense can pick up their game and get this team out of it’s misery and depression.
Baker calls it “bad luck.” I call it the sign of a team that doesn’t have a winning attitude. Bad things happen to teams that just aren’t that good, and don’t think they are good. Good things to happen to teams who put pressure on the other team. Good things happen to teams that don’t give in, and don’t give up. The Yankees didn’t give up. They won the game. Okay, let’s move on.
Boston for 3 starting tomorrow. Detroit for 3 starting Friday. Los Angeles Angels for 3 starting Monday. All at the Safe. Please, the city and fans are begging you, WAKE UP!

I didn’t think I could get anymore disappointed after yesterday’s loss…….until I went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie…
…I’d be happy if the Mariners could even compete in 95% of games for the rest of the year…

Well, 1 loss down. I can’t say this surprised me. Colon is 8-1 against the Mariners at Safeco in his career…

Hmmmm…..could this end up being the worst Mariners team ever???…..It’s easily the most underachieving so far….Or are they just playing to their actual talent level and were overachieving mightily last year???

Some players are underachieving, some are playing at their talent level. It’s frustrating.
Last nights game was the most excited I’ve been for a win, ever. I’ve been to games with a walk off home run, a walk off grand slam, robbing the other team of a home run, but I’ve never been so excited for a single IN MY LIFE.

I was completely expecting Morrow to give up a 3-run shot to Manny…But he completely blew him away…Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come from Morrow. He actually threw breaking balls for strikes and had an absolutely overpowering fastball yesterday….I hate to say it but he looked A LOT better than JJ yesterday…

This series win is HUGE…Maybe this will finally remove the Mariner’s head from their ass, where it has been firmly planted all season….And once again Morrow looked like a man pitching to boys out there…Right now JJ looks like Morrow had up until this point and Morrow looks like JJ did last year…
