5/5 - Jarrod Washburn vs. Kevin Millwood
5/6 - Miguel Batista vs. Sidney Ponson
5/7 - Erik Bedard vs. Vincente Padilla
5/8 - Felix Hernandez vs. Kason Gabbard (?)
After an awful roadtrip, the Seattle Mariners stumble back home to find themselves at the bottom of the AL West. With the AL West crown is falling further from reach with every loss, a quick turnaround followed by a hot streak is needed if Seattle is going to be a contender in this division. It’s only May, but time is of the essence.
Mariners to watch:
Game 1 - Against Millwood: Jose Vidro (.317, 2 HR, 2 2B in 93 PAs), Adrian Beltre (.306, 3 HR in 64 PAs), Richie Sexson (.275 3 HR, 11 RBI in 58 PAs), Ichiro (.412 in 55 PAs) and Raul Ibanez (.357 in 46 PAs)
Game 2 - Against Ponson: Richie Sexson (.480/.519/1.080 in 27 PAs), Ichiro (.563 in 18 PAs)
Game 3 - Erik Bedard (4-1 2.42 ERA in 7 career starts against Texas). Against Padilla: Adrian Beltre (4 of his 6 hits are HR), Ichiro (.577/.607/.769 in 28 PAs), Raul Ibanez (.353 in 20 PAs)
Game 4 - Against Gabbard: Ichiro (4/6), Jose Lopez (2/2)
Mariner Killer Prediction: Michael Young has always been a pain in the neck for the Mariners, and why should things be any different for this series? He is a combined 38-for-123 (.309) with 4 HR, 9 2B, 2 3B and 15 RBI against Seattle’s scheduled starters (.350 if you remove Bedard from the conversation), and has hit .299 with 63 RBI over the course of his career against Seattle (127 games).

The final day is Felix vs. Gabbard, according to the ESPN pitching probables. So yeah, you got it as of now…
Hopefully we can get turn things around now before it gets too ugly.
Is Johnny Mac on the hot seat now?

Looking at his track record against the scheduled starters, looks like Ichiro is poised for another monster series against his favorite team to face.

I bet we let the Rangers take the first, we take the middle 2, and they take the finale.
In a roundabout way of saying it, I think we split with them. Which is really less than satisfactory to me. But whatever. Wins are wins.

Josh Hamilton isn’t in the lineup for Texas with Washburn on the hilll.. that only helps us.

Uhh…..Has anyone seen our offense….It was here on Monday for three innings…..and now it’s gone…..
Paging Mr. Bonds…..are you there Mr. Bonds???

We really really really need this game. The offense has to step up, because our starters have all been “stoppers” at times, but they can’t win the game without any run support.

Bases loaded already… fantastic.
13 May 8th, 2008 at 9:10 pm

15 May 8th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
I missed all that (I started watching other shows after we fell behind 4-0)…
….and is Jose Lopez really the Mariners best hitter this year????
16 May 8th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
bummer.. did you catch the replay?
17 May 8th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
No…they haven’t showed one since I started watching again…
WE GOT A RUNNER TO THIRD!!!!
18 May 8th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
The Mariner batters actually look like they are just trying to get the game over with the way they went up hacking away in the 7th…
Who woulda known that the Rangers had such good pitching…………..oh wait……..
