Brad Wilkerson’s 3-for-3 effort last night wasn’t enough to save him job.  Ryan Divish of the News Tribune is reporting that Wilkerson’s locker has been cleaned out, name plate and all.

It’s unknown at this point whether he has been given his unconditional release or if he was designated for assignment.  No word yet on the corresponding move, but I’d guess that Wlad Balentien should be on his way from AAA Tacoma with a lefty pitching against the Mariners tonight. 

I’m a little surprised with this move for several reasons, but I’ll go into that when an official announcement is made.
