Jason A. Churchill of Prospect Insider put out another great read for Seattle P-I’s Farm Report, this time focusing onWladimir Balentien.  Check it out!

What I learned:

• One of Wlad’s three home runs the other night was of the inside-the-park variety, allowing him to flash some speed and prove his bruised knee is A-OK.
• The defensive concerns of Spring Training seem to already be a thing of the past. 
• He’s cut down on his swing (without sacrifices power) which is resulting in fewer strikeouts, and has been showing an improved eye at the plate as well as pitch recognition (which was a big problem earlier).

I certainly feel more comfortable having him called up after reading this.  I wasn’t so sure that he was ready and thought he could use another month or so, despite Seattle’s need for production.
